Volkswagen’s ‘Little Darth Vader’ Max Page to Undergo Open Heart Surgery

Although you probably wouldn’t recognize Max Page, you have almost certainly seen him before. The 7-year-old played miniature Darth Vader in Volkswagen’s 2011 Super Bowl ad, a spot that is among the most popular in the history of the Big Game.

New Heart-Monitoring Device for Smartphones Could Save Your Life

Swiss researchers say new technology that interacts with smartphones could revolutionize the treatment of heart patients.

The device in question consists of four electrode sensors attached to the skin and linked to a radio module and computer chip that clips onto a patient’s belt. Data from the device is sent to a smartphone and can be viewed in real-time for up to 150 hours on a single charge. Any abnormalities are sent to a doctor via text or email with a picture attachment.

Sex Can Lead to Death, Says Study

A new study has confirmed what doctors have long suspected: A sudden burst of moderate to intense activity, in particular sex, greatly increases your risk of suffering a deadly cardiac event.

Researchers from Tufts University compiled data from 14 studies which explored the link between sex and heart attacks. They were able to conclude a person is 2.7 times more likely to have a heart attack during sex, or one to two hours after the love making, than they are during normal activities.
