An "ice expert" says hell yes, but global warming says hell no! Either way, saying it will completely freeze over is a bold statement and prediction by Jay Austin, associate professor at the Large Lakes Observatory in Duluth, MN. He claims there is a “very high likelihood” that Lake Superior, the three quadrillion gallon lake, will soon be totally covered with ice thanks to this winter’s record-breaking cold. The last time we've seen this close of a total freeze over of the largest fresh water lake in the world was 20 years ago in February of 1994, at 91%. The maximum freeze over Lake Superior has seen (that we know of) was in 1979 at 94.7%. And just to clarify, it's the largest fresh water lake in the world by surface area, and third largest by volume. I <3 Wiki!
