This week's construction update brings you woes of I-27. If you thought I-40 was bad, be prepared for I-27 into Downtown Amarillo this week. But, this doesn't mean the construction on I-40 is letting up, more fun awaits you on our lovely interstate.

If you are traveling I-40 this week be prepared for slow downs as construction continues on the bridges in East Amarillo.

If you travel under I-40 and Ross be prepared to find an alternate route this week. Let's face it if you travel I-40, try not too this week or you'll be stuck in traffic fora very long time. Plus all the fun happening on Bell.

New phase begins on the Ross Street Bridge and Arthur project this week and other lane closures for routine maintenance. Please be aware of the following closures and be prepared to get ready to take alternate routes or expect a slow down in your commute.

Out with the old and in with the temporary as old traffic signals are removed at I-40 and Ross.  Plus look for slow downs on I-27 near Rockwell Rd. and McCormick as well as Hillside.

If you travel I-27 this week get ready for some major slow downs from Western to Rockwell Road and in between. Not to mention work on Ross. Plus other construction woes that will slow you down.

Here's this weekly update on lane closures and construction. In addition to the on going construction, here's the areas that will also slow you down this week.

Starting this week look for I-40 West to be backed up as demolition starts on the Pullman Bridge, plus overlay work continues on I-40.

Remember the time when nearly every main road in Amarillo was under construction. Oh wait, that's reality and not a memory and this week looks to be a crazy week for road construction.

If you are traveling near Whitaker, Lakeside, Pullman and Eastern, prepare yourself for some major slow downs over the next few months as bridge work continues on these areas of I-40.

It looks like an easy week for construction. Of course, the on going construction continues, but this week you just have to deal with the occasional lane closure for routine maintenance and updates.

Welcome to the start of a new work week and the start of school week. Lots of maintenance work going on this week. Just keep an eye out and be safe making your way through construction zones. As Wednesday rolls around be extra careful in school zones and areas around schools as our kids head back to school.
