Texas DPS Finds 8 Pounds Of Cocaine In Traffic Stop Near Conway, TX
A routing traffic stop on I-40 in Carson County, near Conway, TX, revealed a large amount of cocaine. 8 pounds of cocaine was seized by Texas DPS during the traffic stop west of Amarillo. One man has been arrested.
"36-year-old Joel Gonzalez-Camaro was arrested Tuesday after a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper found eight pounds of cocaine hidden inside a vehicle during a traffic stop.
DPS said a trooper stopped Gonzalez-Camaro for a traffic violation at 8:21 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 40 near Conway in Carson County.
During the stop the trooper searched the vehicle and found the drugs hidden inside a compartment. DPS said the estimated value of the drugs is more than $253,000.
Gonzalez-Camaro was arrested and booked into the Carson County Jail for possession of a controlled substance. DPS said the drugs were allegedly being transported from Phoenix, Arizona to Columbus, Ohio."
