Plano Senior High School has enacted a unique graduation rule.

Graduation is an exciting time for high school students. It's the beginning of a new chapter of their lives. And some of those students worked extremely hard to get into the best colleges and earn the most scholarships.

There is an organization called National Honor Society in most high schools that recognizes students with outstanding academic records. Part of that recognition is a white stole or cord to wear at graduation.

Plano Senior High School, which is northeast of the Dallas metroplex, has decided not to let NHS students wear their graduation regalia.

According to school officials, Plano Senior High School does not allow any student to wear anything from a club or organization to graduation and they want to make sure all students feel included.

However, the school will allow students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher to wear a plain honors stole at graduation.

Plano East High School and Plano West High School, which are in the same school district as Plano Senior, will allow students to wear their NHS stoles to graduation.

There is a detailed outline of the accepted dress code on the school website, but nothing regarding accepted regalia.
