A rancher in Chambers County, Texas, found more than he expected when he went to inspect property he recently leased - to the tune of $2 million in marijuana!

According to the Chambers County Sheriff's Office, the man leased the land with the intention of using it for cattle. He was going to let the cattle graze on the land and live the life of a good ol' Texas rancher. Imagine the munchies those cows would have had!

Authorities were called to the property, which was being leased from the Army Corp of Engineers on July 1 after the rancher said he saw two individuals camping on the land who took off when they saw him.

I couldn't imagine them wanting to stick around and discuss things with the rancher.  "Yo dude, is it cool if we keep growing this pot on your property, we'll break you off with some blunts if you keep quite about it."

Officials said nearly a mile into thick woods on the property they found about 5,500 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $2 million.

Officials from the sheriff's office said that while no arrests have been made in connection with the investigation, equipment seized from the land could lead to arrests.

The most ironic part of the story is the land with the marijuana grow operation was leased FROM THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS!  What the hell were they "engineering"?!
