As I was going through recipes, I realized that one of the most important dishes is the dressing.  You can't have turkey without dressing.  So here is a great recipe for southern style chicken/cornbread dressing.

There are many ways to make a good dressing, but at the heart I'm country and so is this recipe.  Everything from the smell to the taste makes you feel at home.  But cornbread always has that effect.  Here ya go!

Ingredients

1 chicken

2 packages cornbread

1 cup celery chopped

2-3 beaten eggs

3 boiled eggs chopped

1/4 cup  green onions (optional)

Directions

In a large saucepan, boil chicken until tender; season with salt and pepper to taste.  Remove meat from bone and set aside, also set broth aside.

Bake cornbread according to directions.  Crumble in a large bowl.  Add celery, onions, boiled eggs, chicken meat, and beaten eggs.  Toss together and begin adding chicken broth slowly.

In order for the dressing to be moist, you must add enough broth to make it look soupy.  Place in a baking dish and bake at 400 degrees until golden brown on top.  Be careful not to over cook it because it will dry out.

There is a good ole fashioned dressing.  It is delicious and gives the 'at home' feeling.  Enjoy!
