I think this is pretty exciting news, and I can't wait to take part in my first ever Color Run!  It's making it way to Amarillo, TX for the first time ever on June 15th, 2013!  Are you as excited as me?  Maybe you don't know what the Color Run is?  Well lemme tell ya, it's something that you don't wanna miss!  And it's for a good cause as it benefits the American Heart Association!

I welcome the Color Run to the 806!  If you don't know what it is, allow me to explain.

Basically, it's a 5k run or walk.  You can do it in teams of 4+ members, or you can even do it solo. The difference is, you're running through streets covered in paint!  So, you start off the Color Run squeaky clean, and by the time you reach the finish line, you're covered from head to toe in paint!  Get it now?

The paint run truly is a one of a kind experience, less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with your friends and family!  It's for participants of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes!  Whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of The Color Run course will be a running or walking experience like no other you've ever participated in!

RACE RULES (courtesy of The Color Run)

Rule #1:  Be kind to each other!  All participants are welcome… fast, slow, runner, walker, old, and young.
Rule #2:  Wear something white to the start line.  Start time is 8:00am
Rule #3:  DON’T THROW YOUR COLOR PACK BEFORE THE RACE.  (We know it’s tempting, but trust us, you’re going to get all sorts of colorful soon enough.  Save your personal color pack for the finish festival color throw.  It is so worth the wait.)
Rule #4:  Enjoy the colorful Willy Wonka goodness at the finish.

And from my understanding, when you've completed the 5k walk/run, they actually have this product they will spray your clothes in, sealing the color you obtained in the Color Run into your clothes forever so you can frame them and show them off!

I think this is a very cool and I'm so glad they're finally bringing it to Amarillo!  I know Lubbock always has thousands of participants, I say we show Lubbock up and try to get 10,000 people in the first ever Color Run in Amarillo!  My wife and I are definitely going to be in it!  Mark your calendars!  It's coming on June 15th, 2013!
