Amarillo’s Lady Punishers All-Woman Tackle Football Season Kicks Off Soon

Bet you didn't know that Amarillo has an all-woman tackle football team, did you? Yes, we do and this will be their 2nd season here in Amarillo. The Lady Punishers are ready for another hard-hitting season and want you to come out and support them.

The Lady Punishers are part of the New Mexico Adult Football League, which is a minor-league semi-pro football league. They were known as the Gladiators last season.

Tackle football for women is actually really popular. There is an Independent Women's Football League that has over 20 teams across the U.S.! There are only four other teams in the women's division of the New Mexico Adult Football League.

The Lady Punishers are still looking for a few more spots to fill up. If you're interested, you can tryout this Saturday at 3pm at Sam Houston Park or contact them through the Lady Punisher Facebook.

Get ready fans because the season starts the first week of April and runs through June. All home games will be played in Bushland.
