The Panhandle Plains Historical Museum is excited to announce the grand re-opening of  The Petroleum Wing.  The petroleum wing of the museum was closed a few years ago for renovations.  They have updated, expanded and made this an amazing journey through the history of the oil boom in the Texas Panhandle and the new Petroleum Wing will finally be open again on Saturday, April 23rd.  So don't miss this celebration.

WHAT: The Grand Reopening: The Petroleum Story

WHEN: Saturday, April 23rd, 11-3pm

COST: Admission to the Museum

The event will include a hot dog lunch while supplies last, children's crafts and activities.  Special exhibit experts will be on site to talk about the new renovations.  Plus the first 100 people through the door at 11am will receive a special PPHM gift.

The exhibit includes a new sculptured entrance to the Derrick Room balcony.  Plus you'll see a timeline of events in the petroleum history.  Plus interactives that allow you to experience the risks involved in exploration of oil.
