APD did some fishing yesterday evening, of a black Ford pickup truck that was in Medi-Park Lake in Amarillo.  After the dive team hit the water, found the vehicle wasn't occupied, they immediately searched the area for a possible casualty and removed the truck from the water.  Thankfully, the search yielded nothing, and it was determined the truck was a stolen vehicle, assumed to have been dumped in the lake by the suspect to cover his tracks.

"Once the vehicle had been removed from the water, officers determined that the pickup had been taken in a 9-12-14 personal robbery in the 2600 block of Amarillo Boulevard East. In the original incident, the pickup owner reported that he had stepped out of his vehicle to purchase food at a taco stand at about 10:30 PM. The suspect, described as a BM 30-40 with a stocky build and shaved head, approached the victim, started hitting him in the face with his fists, then left in the vehicle. The victim sustained minor facial injuries. There were no arrests in the incident."
