The much-misunderstood Victoria Beckham covers the March issue of Allure, giving off her signature smoldering stare, revealing her desire to lead more of a private life.

The former Spice Girl and seriously respected fashion designer is visibly uncomfortable when it comes to the paparazzi, which is evidenced by her perpetual glare and puss face, which she dons when appearing on red carpets.

But Posh's public persona is at odds with how she is perceived in private. Those who know her are quick to point out that she is a funny, devoted mother.

"The whole paparazzi thing -- I feel very uncomfortable," she said in the Allure cover [via ONTD]. "And the older I get, I feel more and more uncomfortable. I like to take my kids to school, go to work. I don't want to be leading a public life. I accept that fame isn't a coat that you can put on and take off whenever you choose, so I would never complain about it. But myself and David [Beckham] like to go to restaurants that are somewhat private, where there's a little back door that we can easily get in and out of."

That's certainly fair.

She also calls her husband Becks "the most wonderful man I have ever met. He's a fantastic father. We're very equal at home."

No wonder they've been married for so long and so happily.
