What Are We Watching

So since the beginning, Jersey Shore has been a huge it.  And it continues to grow viewers. 

Well as I was watching it last night, I started thinking "What am I watching."  It is a nonsense show that glorifies drinking and sex.  I am not one to judge, but when a girl gets so drunk she is begging for sex, I see that as a problem.

For those of you who missed the show last night, Snookie spent the entire time drunk.  She was even sneaking beer at work.  And the new girl Dena was so wasted that after being in the club for 10 minutes, she got escorted to a cab.  J Wow was so drunk, she peed behind a club bar.  (I won't be having a drink there anytime soon.)

And then Snookie would sneak into Vinnie's bed and after begging and being rejected she finally left him alone, until the next night.  And Dena kept trying to get in bed with the Situation.  How desperate are these girls?  And what are they teaching the viewers about self respect?  The show ended with Snookie being arrested for public intoxication and disturbing the peace.

So once again I asked myself, why do I continue to watch this show?  The answer, I have no idea.  For some reason I, along with 8 million other viewers, find it entertaining.  So while I DO NOT agree with the actions of these girls, I unfortunately will continue to watch the show!  Can I get a fist pump!!
