I have been in Amarillo for about 9 years now and I still find new places to visit.  One thing that I love is the smallest, locally owned restaurants.  For some reason they are always the best, but which one is the best of the best?

The first thing I did when I moved here was asking people the best places to eat.  My favorite restaurants are the ones referred to as the 'holes in the walls.'  But for some reason I have only been to a few.  I know that Amarillo is filled with restaurants, but I want to find the best ones.

Here are some of my favorite places to visit.

First off, if I want a fast breakfast that is delicious at the same time, I hit up Oscar's Mi Familia Burrito on 45th and Teckla.  They have some of the best burritos I have found.  Another good place to have breakfast is Judy's Place on 27th and Grand.  Yummy!

If I'm in the mood for some Mexican food, I'll head over to Jerry's Cafe at 1601 S. Grand.  The service and the food are super good.

Now when I'm looking for some good ole BBQ, I will head over to the SW side of Amarillo and hit up Robinson's BBQ.  You can find that at Hillside and Bell.  It is totally worth the drive.

And of course, I can't write about hole in the wall restaurants without mentioning Coyote Bluff.  The first time I went in there, I had to stand in line and wait for an available table.  And it was totally worth the wait.  They have some good burgers, but their chilli cheese fries are my favs.

Now I know that there are so many other great restaurants out there that I haven't tried.  Like Arnold Burgers on 1611 S. Washington.  I have heard so many great things about it, but haven't made it out there.  Or La Frontera at 1401 S. Arthur Street.  Many people have recommended it to me, but I always forget about it.

I want to make a list and check out all the 'hole in the wall' places in Amarillo.  I don't want to miss out on delicious food because I don't know about it.

So what are some of your favorite locally owned restaurants?
