What Mother’s Day Means To Me
Mother's Day is a very special day. It means something very different to each and every one of us. So what does Mother's Day mean to you?
Growing up, I was always a little confused. In school we would work hard to make our moms these wonderful cards and gifts. My teachers would always say that it was a day to spoil and treat our moms. This was her day.
But at home we celebrated a little differently. My mom would treat and spoil us. She would wake up and make us whatever we wanted to eat and usually got us a little gift.
I never understood why she did this until I had a child of my own. I now realize that it is an honor to be a mom. While this day is suppose to be about honoring and thanking our mom, as a mom I feel like I am already honored. My son is the most amazing blessing I could ever have.
So on this day, Mother's Day, I will continue my mom's tradition and celebrate my son. Because without him, I wouldn't be a mom. I am so very lucky to have such an amazing person in my life.
I do love my mom very much! She is the reason I am the person I am today. I did wish her a Happy Mother's Day and got her a gift, but I am going to spend the entire day doing what my son wants to do. Another day is not ever promised so I will use this holiday to make sure my son knows that I am very honored and grateful to be his mother!
Everyone has their own special ways of celebrating, what's yours?
