Wiz Khalifa has broke a YouTube record with his heartfelt video for “See You Again." The clip holds the record of having the most views on the video channel, breaking Korean pop star Psy’s record for his insanely popular video for “Gangnam Style.”

According to YouTube, Wizzy’s “See You Again” video has garnered nearly 2.9 billion views as of Tuesday (July 11). This achievement beats Psy’s “Gangnam Style” clip, which has 2.8 billion views. The Korean entertainer has held the record for over five years since surpassing Justin Bieber's "Baby" visual in November of 2012.

"I'm super excited and grateful to everyone who supported the song and video on YouTube, and happy to inspire and impact so many lives," said Khalifa about his video achievement in a statement (via CNN).

The song's co-star, Charlie Puth, added, "I remember when I signed up for YouTube in 2007 and had hopes of uploading a video and it reaching 10,000 views. Now a decade later, it feels incredible to be a part of the most-viewed video on YouTube."

The duo's video is still averaging over three million views per day in just this year alone. The song appeared in the 2015 car-racing flick Furious 7 where it played during the final credits in a tribute to the movie's star, Paul Walker, who was killed in a fatal car accident in November 2013 before the film was released.
