A new survey by the National Retail Federation reveals that North Americans will spend $8.4 billion on Halloween this year. $8.4  BILLION, PEOPLE!  Read on for other findings.  These numbers are incredible!

- The average consumer will spend $82.93 on Halloween this year. That's up from $74.34 last year.

  • 67% of people will purchase costumes for Halloween
  • 94% of people will purchase candy for Halloween
  • 70% of people purchase decorations for Halloween
  • 71% of consumers plan to hand out candy on Halloween
  • 49% of people will decorate their home or yard for Halloween
  • 21% of people will visit a haunted house for Halloween
  • 30% of people will take their children trick-or-treating on Halloween
  • 46% of people will carve a pumpkin for Halloween
  • 16% of people will dress their pet in a costume for Halloween
