It's that time again!  The time when US Postal Mail Carriers collect your non-perishable food donations while they deliver your mail in Stamp Out Hunger 2012!

This Saturday, May 12th, all across Amarillo, mail carriers will look for your donations as they drop off the all the junk mail and bills (that's all I get at least).

Last year, over 20,000 pounds of food were collected in this effort, the goal this year is 30,000 pounds and I know we can meet that!

Food collections wont just be happening in Amarillo, but also in Canyon, Dimmitt, Dumas, Friona, Hereford, Shamrock and Tulia.

You should have received a bag in your mailbox (pictured above).  Keep that bag and fill it with your donations of canned vegetables, soups, boxed dinners (i.e. macaroni & cheese, Hamburger Helper, cereal), rice, pinto beans, paper goods (such as paper
towels, toilet paper) and personal hygiene items (such as shampoo, body soap, toothbrushes), then simply leave it by your mailbox this Saturday before 9am for the mailman or mail-lady to pick up!  They are asking that you do not include anything in a glass container.

So stop stalking your ex on Facebook and start making a difference in your community by giving to a good cause!

Clean out the cupboards and open your heart to help out the High Plains Food Bank!
