Spring break starts this weekend in Amarillo, Texas, and will be a wild one. While most of us think of sunshine and time outside, we'll get snow and lose an hour off our days. Here is what's happening in Amarillo this weekend to kick off spring break.

Snow For Spring Break In Amarillo, Texas

This weekend, while some of us are celebrating the start of spring break, the Texas panhandle looks to be getting another round of snow. The National Weather Service in Amarillo has given updates regarding the chances for some wintery precipitation, and it looks like you might want to break out the blankets.

As of right now, it looks like chances are good for around two to three inches of snow in Amarillo. Our chances start after 9 PM Friday and will end with a slight chance at around 9 PM on Saturday. That's around 24 hours of possibilities.

Don't Forget To Spring Forward Saturday Night

Not only are we kicking off spring break with chances for snow, we're also losing an hour thanks to the time change. On Saturday night, you'll need to set the clock on your stove again.

Since it's "spring time", Saturday night you'll need to "spring forward" and set your clocks one hour forward before you go to bed. Most of us won't even think about it thanks to all of our devices doing this automatically.

This weekend, you might want to try getting a little extra rest. It will help you cope with time change, which studies have shown can cause all kinds of problems.
