Their story starts with near tragedy. The twins were found lost, abandoned, in a rock quarry near Weatherford, Texas. They were rescued and brought back to health at a shelter, and now they call Amarillo home.

This month, you'll get to meet the latest stars of Amarillo Zoo. They just so happen to be twin bobcats.

Found And Rescued In A Rock Quarry

The twin bobcats were found in a rock quarry near Weatherford, Texas. They were only 24 hours old. Fortunately, they were rescued and taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

According to a press release issued by the City of Amarillo, the twin bobcats were at the end of their time at the wildlife rehabilitation center and the plan was to release them back into the wild.

But there was a slight problem. The bobcats had become fond of people. So much so, that they were not able to be released back to into the wild.

Amarillo Zoo's Latest Additions Are Adorable Twin Bobcats

That's when they came to Amarillo Zoo. According to the press release, the bobcats have already stolen the hearts of everyone that has been around them. They're well acclimated to being around people, and have been a hit with visitors.

The twins are named Huckleberry and Hampton. They join the two other bobcats living at Amarillo Zoo, Poncho and Tooter.
