Yesterday, it was insanely cold. It's still really, really, cold outside. I never in a million years would have thought that last night people would be lined up and waiting to get in to an outdoor holiday attraction. Apparently, I underestimated people.

Were you in that massive line at Maxwell's last night?

Freezing Cold Temps And A Lot Of Christmas Lights

I looked down at the display on my dash. My car said it was between 6 and 8 degrees. I couldn't believe what I was seeing in front of me.

Making my way down McCormick, it didn't take long before I came up on the traffic, which was at a standstill. No one was moving.

I sat there trying to figure out what was going on, but I couldn't see around the vehicle in front of me.

Once in a while, there's a nasty wreck on McCormick and I was hoping that wasn't the reason. If traffic wasn't moving, that would have to mean really bad news.

Then I looked out of my window to my left, and I noticed Maxwell's lit up nice and bright. That's when it clicked.

I had found, with no other option available, my way into the line to get in to Maxwell's.

I Think You're Insane, But Don't Let That Stop You

I've written about Maxwell's on more than one occasion. I enjoy it, my children love it, and it's pretty much a yearly tradition for us. We even did the Maxwell's Christmas this year.

That being said, you couldn't pay me enough to go out in temperatures just barely hanging by a thread above zero to walk around and look at lights. Chasing kids around in that kind of weather just sounds awful.

Let's pretend that Maxwell's was closed because of the weather, that would mean that there are that many people don't need any kind of encouragement to go brave the cold for a good time.

If you decide to get outdoors for some holiday fun this weekend, be sure to bundle up. It's going to be cold.
