You're sick of the cold weather. I'm sick of the cold weather. Everyone is sick of it. The question on a lot of our minds, while the weather fluctuates between two seasons, is when will it finally feel like spring in Amarillo.

I checked the Farmer's Almanac, and it's not great news. At least, according to them.

Don't Get Your Hopes Up For Steady Warm Weather Anytime Soon

The Farmer's Almanac could have "done us a solid" and given us some good news. Instead it basically had this to say.

Get ready to shiver your way toward spring.

The official first day of spring is near the end of March, which means nothing to us in the panhandle of Texas. I can't remember the last time the first day of a season actually matched up to what we were feeling, or had been feeling leading up to, that time.

According to them, spring will not be in any hurry to get here. Things will stay cold for a while.

I suppose the one bright spot in their forecast is that we'll be at "near normal" temperatures.

Near Normal Temps And Plenty Of Thunderstorms This Spring

The other part of the spring forecast from Farmer's Almanac is the fact that we will get our fair share of thunderstorms this year. One could argue that we're luckier than some places, which they forecast will be getting snow well into April.

Of course, this is the Texas panhandle. Trying to predict the weather is a lot like spitting into the wind. At the end of the day, the weather here is going to do whatever the hell it wants and we're all simply along for the ride.

It would be nice, though, if the temperature would go up just a little bit and stay there.
