Is There New Life for Recently Closed Amarillo Barbecue Location?

We saw a lot of restaurants and businesses that closed up last year in Amarillo. It was a tough year. We also were able to celebrate as a few of those closed restaurants were able to reopen like Malcolm's and Beef O'Brady's.

We also got the word that Sakura was going to be reopening. So the restaurants that are making a comeback can be nothing but good news for our city. We love seeing these Cinderella stories.

There seems to be another one making a comeback this year. It was the middle of December last year when we found out about this place closing. A simple note on the door and it was done. Years and years of great food at Doug's Bar-B-Q was done and gone.

I was driving by the closed location the other day and saw some work being done inside. Could this mean a second life? Are they just cleaning it out ready to get their final stuff out? What is going on?

So I did a lot of digging and it looks like Doug's Bar-B-Q is indeed making a comeback. I know there will many in Amarillo excited about this news. Work is being done to get the place reopened.

So, be ready for the listing on Google to go from being permanently closed to starting to serve wonderful BBQ again. Who is ready? I know I will be keeping an eye open for the doors to be open again.
