It's the most wonderful time of the year in Amarillo. We watch as all of the Christmas lights start going up. We plan for our trip to go see Santa Claus. We know there is a lot going on from Thanksgiving through the new year.

We keep saying that it is a blur. Oh, and it is. We have a lot of days that signify something special beginning with Thanksgiving. After that, we have a day to crazy shop and save money on Black Friday. Then we get to support our local businesses on Small Business Saturday.

If that was not enough shopping we have a day to get more deals online. We don't want to miss out on Cyber Monday. Then we need to decompress and spend time thinking about others on Giving Tuesday.

Now the thing about Giving Tuesday is that it is wrapping up a bigger-than-us week of helping out our community. It's called Panhandle Gives. This campaign has been going on for several years now and is always a huge blessing for our local non-profits.

This year's Panhandle Gives kicks off on November 25th and concludes on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd. This is where the Panhandle comes together to help out our non-profits in the area. This is the largest giving event in the Texas Panhandle.

It's a great time to give and then follow to see how big the hearts of the Texas Panhandle really are. There are billboards in our city that give an update. It is great to watch. There is also a Facebook page to keep up with HERE.

Let's open our hearts and wallets again this year and help these great Panhandle non-profits.
