Driving by the former Denny's location on Georgia recently I noticed something. The For Sale out front. No, it didn't surprise me. I mean the building now sits empty. It is a good location. So what is next?

What Should Move Into the Former Denny's Location?

There are a few questions when you see a for-sale sign like that up. This location has had some issues. Those issues caused the Denny's in that location to close. They did not close due to lack of business. They closed because the building needed too much work on it.

So the new owners will have to tackle those issues. They will have to fix what is wrong with the place or start from scratch. Could whoever buy it decide to tear it down? That is definitely a possibility.

The location is great. Sitting on Georgia Street there is so much traffic. Will a new cafe-type restaurant try to move in and tackle the problems? How many problems really are there with that building?

We know they closed several times this year and fixed the problems that forced them to close. So what is next? I did see some talk on social media about what should move into that location.

In the Amarillo Restaurant Reviews.....On the Your Own Risk page, one of the group admins was looking for funds to help open a cat cafe. The discussion of opening such a place in the former Denny's location was in the discussion.

I had never even heard of a cat cafe until I started watching Call Me Kat with Mayim Bialik. The discussion has been had before. Amarillo could have a cat cafe. Would that be a good location for one?

What should be put in the place of the former Denny's on Georgia Street? We can't let that great location go to waste.

Amarillo's Georgia Street and All It's Changes

The streets of Amarillo have changed a lot. Georgia Street used to be the place to buy a car. Now it has everything.
