Amarillo Wonders What is Moving into Empty Coulter Location

Earlier this year we lost an Arby's location on Hillside and Coulter here in Amarillo. Since then that building has sat empty. We don't like to see that. We want as many thriving businesses as we can in Amarillo.

We earlier found out that Dave's Hot Chicken was coming to Amarillo. They still are, but that empty Coulter location is where a lot of us thought it was moving to. It may still be. The thing is another rumor started up about that location.

Recently someone on social media made the claim that a new Chipotle location was coming to Amarillo. That would be great news. The location on Georgia sees a lot of business so a second location would be great.

That same Arby's location at Hillside and Coulter was mentioned for that as well. We know that Qdoba is moving into the former Roll Em Up Taquitos place. So that location is not up for grabs.

Are we getting both a second location for Chipotle and a Dave's Hot Chicken? Could that location at Hillside and Coulter be big enough for both places? I mean Chipotle on Georgia shares its building with AT&T as well, so it is possible to have both.

Amarillo is showing some great progress with a lot of new places we find outside of Amarillo so any new places are great additions to our city. We are getting a Dave's Hot Chicken somewhere and hopefully, we will be getting a second location for Chipotle.

Update: I made a stop into our Chipotle on Georgia Street recently and talked with an employee. Yes, Amarillo is getting a second location in Amarillo. It will be on Coulter but they were unsure if it would be in the old Arby's location. I reached out to corporate but have yet to get an answer.
