Amarillo has a ton of great places to eat, pretty much every type of food you can imagine. Want pizza? We’ve got plenty. Craving a steak? Well, we’re in Texas — of course, that’s covered, too.

Amarillo’s Chicken Scene

Chicken seems to be another food Amarillo knows pretty well — and we’ve got many local spots serving it. Adding more options is never a bad thing. That’s exactly what might be happening soon.

Who Is Layne’s Chicken Fingers?

Layne's Chicken Fingers is in the process of taking over Texas. They have plenty of locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and they are in Austin and Houston as well. They are not anywhere near Amarillo.

Major Expansion Deal in Texas

That is for the time being. According to Coming Soon Texas:

Texas based Layne's Chicken Fingers is nearing "total market saturation" in Texas after a series of massive expansion deals.
The "Soon to be Famous" chicken chain just signed its largest deal ever, a 44-unit agreement to bring new locations to West Texas, San Antonio, and the Coastal Bend.
This new deal comes on top of other major expansions, including a recently signed 12-unit deal to develop the Rio Grande Valley with an experienced local operator.
With these new agreements, the Texas market for Layne's is now reportedly over 90% sold out, signaling a huge statewide push from the brand.
I mean, Texas is a pretty big state to take over. If you are going to do it, do it right. That is what they are doing.

What This Means for Amarillo

They already have two confirmed locations in Lubbock. No, confirmed locations in Amarillo, yet. We reached out to Layne’s Chicken Fingers to ask about a possible Amarillo timeline, but as of now, we haven’t heard back.

Next Steps: Will They Come Here?

The good news? If they do come to Amarillo, they’ll be joining a strong lineup. More chicken options are never bad, especially when we take our chicken seriously.
