The Pizzeria Nomad at 34th and Georgia closed suddenly one day recently, with just a note and the doors locked. The signage on the building came down, and the for lease sign went up. It didn't really take that long for a new business to lease that empty space.

I came about this information while I was out drinking lemonade on Lemonade Day over the weekend. A father of one of the stand owners came by to drop off their lemonade sample for the best lemonade competition. While chatting with Noe Trejo, that is when I found out about this location having an occupant.
Noe Trejo and his wife, Luisa, run Pony Express Burritos in Canyon. They have a standalone location at 2808 4th Avenue. They also have a location on the WT campus, and you can enjoy their food while watching a WT football game, as they have a location at the stadium. Their daughters help run the location at the stadium. This is truly a family affair.
People have been talking to them about franchising. That is how good their product is. Noe said that they are making a venture into Amarillo. They have signed the lease and will soon be bringing life into the empty Pizzeria Nomad location.
According to Noe, they are hoping to have the signage up soon. At first, it will be a temporary sign until they can get more permanent signs. If everything goes as planned, they hope to have it open next month.
If you haven't tried Pony Express Burritos yet, they are a build-your-own burrito place, and they are hoping to be one of your favorite go-tos in Amarillo and soon.
