There are a lot of places to wash your car here in Amarillo. There are choices if you want the work to be done for you. You can just drive through and it is done. You can also stop at a place where you can do the job yourself.

I mean sometimes if you want the job done right you have to do it yourself. That is how some people feel. Not me so much. I let others do it. That is what is great about Amarillo. You have the choice and places that cater to everyone.

The question was recently brought to our attention about a car wash in Amarillo that has started ghosting people. I first saw the question brought up on social media.

I just went to Cascades Car Wash on Bell St. to wash my car and they were closed. They had big blue barriers blocking the entrance. The place also needed to be mowed badly. Does anyone know if they are closed permanently or just closed for maintenence or something? - James

So I put this on my list to check out. Is Cascades Car Wash closed? We also got a message from a concerned listener who wanted to know the same thing. It was from another James. Not the same one who originally took to social media. This one involves being charged for his membership fee, for a place that may not be open.

Ya'll know anything about Cascades Car Wash on Bell? They just pulled my monthly car wash membership fee, but haven't been open in a week. No signs or anything, just cones blocking the driveway. -James

When I drove by yes, they did in fact look closed. So I did some more research. Made some phone calls. Their Google listing does not show them as closed so that needs to be updated. I mean that is important.

There is a website listed that didn't seem to match this business so I had to check it out. If you see it says "COMING SOON" to the location of Cascades Car Wash. So it seems the mystery has been solved.

Now why haven't they contacted people with monthly memberships or at the very least canceled their auto-drafts I can't answer that. You would think that would have been one of the first things you did so you didn't run off potential customers to your new business but that is just me, I guess.
