The great thing about the Texas Panhandle is its rich history and culture. In every town around Amarillo, you’ll find interesting stories and traditions everyone loves to share. Dumas has their Dogie Days, Borger has their Boomtober Fest celebration, Pampa has Pampafest, Canyon is the place to be for the 4th of July, and Canadian has the Canadian River Music Festival.

What is the Canadian River Music Festival?

The Canadian River Music Festival was established in 2010. Looking back at the CRMF Facebook page, there was a save-the-date notice for May 2010. This music festival has brought amazing Texas and Americana music to the Texas Panhandle, celebrating music and culture. Each year, this festival gives the economy in Canadian a big boost

Which Artists Have Played the Canadian River Music Festival?

Over the years, artists like Robert Earl Keen, Casey Donahew, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, William Clark Green, Flatland Cavalry, Sawyer Brown, Blackhawk, and many more have taken the CRMF stage.

In February 2025, CRMF announced the festival would move from June to October. When it began, the event was held in May before shifting to June in 2022.

Why was the 2025 Canadian River Music Festival Canceled?

Unfortunately, on October 1, the CRMF announced that the 2025 event was canceled.

CRMF 2025 is canceled. We’re as disappointed about this decision as you are. We fought hard to make it happen this year, but it just didn’t work out.

When will the Canadian River Music Festival Return?

Organizers did say they already have the October 2026 festival in the works.
