Most people are able to acquire health insurance through their employers.   For others, their employers don't provide insurance.  So the only other options are no insurance, super expensive private insurance, or Healthcare.gov.

Navigating Healthcare.gov can be scary especially if you have no clue what you are doing.  You fill out the application to see if you are eligible, and then you find out what kind of credit you are allowed, and then you have to try to find the right plan for you.  Then you're automatically supposed to read a crystal ball and wonder if anyone in Amarillo will accept this insurance.  The provider search is another circus.

Even with dealing with company insurance, you have to constantly ask yourself, do I expect a huge medical expense this year?  Should I be safe with a higher deductible or should I not change it and get the lower deductible and almost pay double per month?

Don't even get me started on the cost of health insurance.

So how do you navigate all this confusion?  Most of the time your companies will have calls to walk you through and navigate enrolling in insurance.   Healthcare.gov has FAQs and tips on using the site, but sometimes that isn't helpful.

So what do you do?  How do you navigate this world?

Here's the best tip and best advice I can give you.

Call an insurance agent.

Just Google and pick one.  Most of them will help you navigate this health insurance nightmare.

I called an insurance agent a co-worker recommended and it was the best thing I could have done because I was about to pull my hair out trying to navigate the health insurance world.
