CJ Pacheco & Velvet Funk Band Faceoff In KISS FM’s Featured Local Artist Of The Week

Tonight we kick off a new feature on the show. We are in search of West Texas' best Artist/Band of the year! By the end of this competition we will know the best local artist in the tri-state area.The winner will also have their  song played on Kiss Fm on regular basis. There is a lot of great talent out there, and now it's time to showcase West Texas' finest! There is no loser in this competition. It's all LOVE! Let's appreciate all of our local talent!

Local Artist #1: Cj Pacheco "Studio Love"

Christian "C.J." Pacheco,
A 15 year old multi-talented entertainer from Amarillo, TX.
C.J. discovered his love and passion for music at an early age. He has been playing the drums since he was 3 years old.
His parent's, Stephanie and Edward recognized and nurtured his abilities from the very beginning. They made sure his desire to become a talented musician was put to use.
C.J. plays the drums, guitar, and keyboard masterfully. Although C.J. has had some instruction in music, he is highly self taught as well.
C.J.'s smooth voice and rhyming ability give him a trio of unique abilities. Not only does he sing and rap, but he plays music with the best of them. His diversity, potential and drive assure C.J.'s relevance in the entertainment industry for years to come.

Artist #2: Velvet Funk Band

We are velvet funk band. Established July 2011. We also play worship at Power Church every Sunday. Gilbert Hernandez is lead vocalist and acoustic. Paul aka Wally Galindo is on drums. Rito longer on bass guitar and Moi Moreno on lead guitar.Will  be on channel 4 the 13th of this month playing live on studio 4. We are four guys who play top 40 favorites. We play everything from old school Spanish favorites, Michael Jackson, George strait to what you hear on 96.9. We only want to share our passion for making music.
