The old Amarillo Globe News building downtown is rich with a proud history--but after so many years of sitting vacant, what does the future hold for this beloved structure?

Do you remember back in the day? There would be two newspapers a day. Yes, two newspapers a day here in Amarillo. The Sunday paper used to be the highlight of the week. Oh, and I remember hunting down a paper on Thanksgiving so we didn't miss any of those Black Friday ads.

The news came out recently that Baxter Black is not doing well. I saw the messages via Facebook recently. The more I looked into it the better the story seemed to get.

Last night, I was checking out random YouTube videos of radio personalities across the nation. I'm always looking for new ideas, and I can't think of a better person for inspiration than the #1 all time radio personality, Howard Stern.  That's when I came across a video of him bashing Amarillo Globe News.

Yes, Amarillo Globe News is about to begin the annual Best of Amarillo poll and I bring this up because last year, our very own Tommy the Hacker took 1st place in best of Amarillo for the Best Radio DJ nomination.  I was in the running as well, but just seeing a person from my family win made me so happy!  Also, 96.9 KISS-FM was in the top 3 running to be the Best Radio Station in Amarillo, and th

Last night around 9pm, Amarillo firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 900 block of S. Van Buren in Amarillo.  A fire that was taking place in the lower level of the Amarillo Globe News paper printing building.

Oh dude this was hilarious to watch as Jay Leno pointed out an Amarillo Globe News article about Hail Storms on the Tonight Show on NBC.  The article had a quote from NWS meteorologist, Krissy Scotten, who was quoted to have "scooped up a pile of ping-pong sized hail" and said "it was like holding ice".  And that's it, that's the punch line.

Today a 10 year old girl was struck on her bike by a car crossing the street. Two girls were out bike riding this evening at around 7:25 when they stopped at a stop sign near South 8th Avenue.

Give props to the hardest working radio station in town. This year Amarillo Globe News has nominated Kiss Fm as a contender for Best "Radio Station" in town and Tommy The Hacker as Best "Radio Dj".
