Amarillo Police are investigating an early morning traffic collision that took place at the Amarillo Blvd and Triangle Drive, sending 4 people to the hospital, 1 with life-threatening injuries.

There was a pretty nasty accident last night around 11pm at 22nd & S Bolton in Amarillo.  A man driving a Chevy truck with 2 passengers was traveling west on 22nd and ran the stop sign at 22nd & S Bolton.  Another man was traveling north on Bolton when the truck ran the stop sign, causing him to t-bone the truck.  The driver of the Chevy truck fled the scene of the accident and just left h

Amarillo Police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 6th St. in Amarillo last night as a huge fight with shots fired broke out.  Thankfully, nobody was injured by the gunshots.  2 people were arrested, one individual was booked on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and a second was arrested for warrants.

An early morning shooting took place around 1:30am on August 30th, 2013.  The shots were fired at a house on the 100 block of N Maryland.  There were no injuries, only minor damage to the house.  Amarillo Police caught up with the suspects, and found the gun, and even some marijuana.  3 Amarillo teenagers were arrested.

A Potter County Grand Jury has indicted Matthew Zimmerman on a murder charge from for the death of Miranda Zimmerman that took place on March 4th, 2013.  Miranda died from "blunt force trauma to the upper body", meaning she was beat to death by Matthew, he even strangled her as he unleashed his temper on her, ultimately taking her life.

Amarillo Crime Stoppers received a tip that led to the capture of the weekly fugitive, Anthony Paul Evans.  Evans had been hiding out trying to avoid being picked up on a warrant for aggravated kidnapping.

5 people have already been taken into custody in the case of Lance Hooser, and Amarillo Police made an additional arrest today in the homicide.  A warrant was issued for Donna Jackson Colson, a 50 year old Amarillo woman accused of tampering with evidence.  The most shocking homicide story out of Amarillo in 2013 continues to be investigated by the Special Crimes Unit.

Around 8:00pm, Amarillo Police officers were taking a report on an unrelated incident on the 6100 block of Bell where they were approached by Shawn Michael Hooten.  Officers immediately recognized Hooten as the wanted man for stabbing and killing his own father and he was immediately, and willingly, arrested.

Officers were dispatched to an early morning stabbing, around 1:00am this morning, at 3308 Eddy Apt-H in Amarillo.  Upon arrival, a victim was found inside the apartment with stab wounds.  He was transferred to the hospital, where he later died.  The victim is identified as Perry Hooten, the suspect (pictured above) is Shawn Michael Hooten.  Amarillo Crime Stoppers are offering a reward to anyone

Originally, on August 10th, 2013, a Dodge truck was struck by 2 separate trains as it was crossing the tracks located in the 600 block of N Eastern in Amarillo.  Witnesses told officers that they observed the truck disregard the railroad crossing barricades.  There was a 38 year old male driving, and a 4 year old boy riding.  The child was ejected from the truck and died of injuries from the colli
