Exciting news for Amarillo residents! Medi Park and Sam Houston Park are getting major upgrades.

It's that time of year!

I say that but I like the fact that this is a hidden gem. Ok, maybe it is not hidden. I mean it's a park and it is in plain sight. I just don't think people take advantage of it as they should.

The summer months are over. The hot weather is behind us. It is a great time to spend some much-needed time outside. I did that the other day and decided to take a walk around Medi Park.

I have always been envious of anyone that can draw. Anyone who has any artistic ability I am in awe of. I have no creativity and my hands just don't work like that. I took an art class in both seventh and eighth grade and it pained me.

New Year, new you for 2022. Yes, that is about as overused as anything else these days. If you are though, seriously, looking to improve your fitness here in the new year it really doesn't have to cost you a lot.

I get it we don't really care for the creepy crawlers. I know I sure don't. I won't run and shriek at the sight of most bugs. I will be the one that gets rid of the spiders for everyone else. Now that is not to say I am their biggest fans at all.

Everything is pumpkin this time of year. Starbucks has their Pumpkin Latte's. Clean Juice has their pumpkin spices latte and The Pumpkin One smoothie. Oh and don't forget Pumpkin Pie Blizzards at Dairy Queen. That is to just name a few.

An important lesson in life that I learned was how to fish. It taught me a few things. You know the important things in life like how to provide food when needed. How to be patient. I mean it does take awhile. Knowing how to hook a worm and even clean a fish is important too.

Before we let the month of June fade away there is another opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy some much needed fun in your life. I know the weather has been a bit toasty here in the Texas Panhandle but that is ok they are prepared for this.

When I go out to dinner with family or friends I tend to order an ice cold beer. Especially in these hot summer months a beer goes down so smooth. I usually stick to a Michelob Ultra because of the calories.
