Westgate mall Amarillo

Recently a trip to the mall here in Amarillo was needed. There once was a time when we had two nearby. Now we are only left with Westgate Mall. As I approached one of the main mall entrances something caught my attention.

In all honesty, it looks like our mall is getting pretty full.

A man at Amarillo’s JC Penney assaulted an employee and robbed the Westgate Mall anchor store.

The fate of JC Penney in Westgate Mall was pretty much unknown, until now. JC Penney revealed the list of stores to close permanently as the company enters Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Bath & Body Closing 50 stores. Amarillo’s Bath & Body Works is not on that list.

In a scene from an apocalyptic movie Westgate Mall is quite a virtual ghost town. The usually busy food court is barren with tables and chairs removed.
