Texas City Makes List For Best Food In The Nation
Travel + Leisure Magazine recently released its list for the best cities for food. One Texas city made the list. Here's the list:
- New Orleans, Louisiana
- Charleston, South Carolina
- New York City, New York
- San Francisco, California
- Chicago, Illinois
- Savannah, Georgia
- Santa Fe, New Mexico
- Austin, Texas
- Portland, Oregon
- Portland, Maine
Should more Texas cities be on the list? Houston has great food overall. Dallas-Fort Worth should probably be on that list as well.
The best thing about Austin is the variety of food you can get there. A lot of chefs from other cities like Los Angeles have moved their over the last few years. Obviously, you can get great Bar-B-Que there (hello Franklin's!). However, you can get great Sushi, Asian, Tex-Mex, and good ol' home cooking there as well.
Each city has at least a few great restaurants. In Amarillo, I like 575 Pizzeria and Thai Taste just to name a couple. I'm still looking for more great restaurants here!
