***UPDATED WITH WHAT HAPPENED BELOW***

When did this happen and why wasn't I informed about it!?  You know that big heart in downtown Amarillo on the corner of 8th & Taylor that you drive by all the time and think "why the hell did they put that huge heart up right there", that's what I'm talking about.  I've planked on that heart!  The "sacred heart" was kinda sacred to me, but stupid at the same time.  Either way, where the hell did it go?  It's just gone like David Copperfield made it vanish or something!

***UPDATE***

UPDATE!  Okay I just got a call from Danny and he works at the bank and knows all about what happened to "the heart of Amarillo".  He said some construction equipment downtown was in operation very close to the heart and it got caught by the wind and blown over thus damaging it, but it is repaired and will be put back very soon!  Also, I've learned there is a second heart down by the Amarillo National Bank Plaza 2!

Hear the call for yourself from Danny below.

***Original story below***

It's like you drive by and don't even realize that it's missing!

Everything else is still there, as you can see in the picture, even the mounting bolts are still in the brick?  So did it like break or something and they're just replacing it?  Did someone break Amarillo's heart!?  Or did they get tired of people pulling over and crowding what is technically a city park.  It's listed on the Amarillo Parks & Rec website as a park, the Taylor Street Park to be exact.

So who has the answers?  Anybody out there?  Please!  I have got to know what happened to the heart of Amarillo and why!

Has anyone heard anything as to why it's gone?  Please comment away and fill me in!  I feel so lost right now!  We're like the Tin-Man from The Wizard of Oz, we have no heart (frowny face).
