5 people were injured in a 1 vehicle roll-over that took place in the parking lot of Westgate Mall over the weekend.  Of the 5, an 18 year old Amarillo female sustained life-threatening injuries.  Speed is believe to be a factor, and Amarillo Police suspect narcotics to be another possible factor in the accident.

"On September 28, 2013 at about 2:48 PM, officers were dispatched to the east parking of Westgate Mall on a one vehicle rollover with several people ejected from the vehicle.  Officers found that a 2000 Jeep Wrangler driven by Deon Spigner, BM, 19 had been eastbound in the parking lot.  He lost control of the Jeep and the vehicle rolled.  All five occupants of the Jeep were taken to a local hospital.  Kristen Ashley Mills, WF, 18 was transported with life threatening injuries.  Spigner was transported with non-life threatening injuries.  Also transported with non life-threatening injuries were Jacob Campbell, WM, 20; Justin Kenway, WM, 22; and Wyatt Black, WM, 21.  Speed is a contributing factor in the crash.  Narcotics are a possible factor."

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
