‘SNL’ – Republican Senators Design the Perfect Tampon
In yet another commercial gem, last night ‘Saturday Night Live’ debuted the G.O.B. Tampon: “Made for a woman, by Republicans.”
The quick commercial was probably the most pointed satire of the night. Poking fun at the recent Republican stance on women’s health issues, the G.O.P. ‘s tampon displayed a rather… unique understanding of a woman’s body and hygienic needs. It has wings, super-absorbency, a cold steel applicator, and is able to reach all parts of the female anatomy — even some that are purely imaginary. With the ever-convincing Vanessa Bayer as the spokesperson flanked by three Republican politicians, this could really take off. After all, what woman doesn’t fantasize about taking a bubble bath with a fully suited Newt Gingrich?
