The Amarillo Millennial Movement is all about the redevelopment of the downtown area and huge supporters of the Multipurpose Event Center. Well, they are doing something pretty awesome this weekend, a free movie.
A new hotel to stand six stories high with 226 rooms begging to be filled and misused in downtown Amarillo was revealed today. Amarillo City Hall stuffed by members of the Downtown Redevelopment Board had their eyes titillated by a peep show of the new hotel's design.

In an effort to beautify and revive downtown Amarillo, a multi-million dollar renovation plan was proposed. Last night, after listening to 36 people voice their opinions, Amarillo City Commissioners voted 5-0 to move forward with phase 1.
I think this would actually be pretty cool! What can I say I'm not a fan of the Amarillo Civic Center. The venue is old and out dated and the employees act like your somehow interrupting they're day when you try to buy tickets. So I'm all for a new downtown venue!
