UPDATE Lubbock Pit bull That Had Ears Cut Off By Owner Is Doing Better

The helpless pit bull that had his ears cut off by his owner, which led to the arrest of Juan Chavira, is doing much better in the hands of Lubbock animal shelter workers.
The sounds of pain came from the trunk of a car, where Juan left the pit bull puppy after brutally hacking most of the dog’s ears off and leaving it to bleed inside the hot trunk of a car.
I feel that bares repeating, he cut the dog’s ears off and then just threw it in the trunk of a car where it bled and cried for help!
That is seriously some messed up stuff it PO’s me to read about it!
There is a happy ending, as the young pit is making the horrific incident a distant memory, recovering and waging his tail with happy thoughts now.
The puppy, about 4 to 5 months old, now is being regularly walked and petted by Animal Shelter staff even as he remains evidence in the case against his owner, 30-year-old Juan Chavira, who faces a state felony charge of cruelty to an animal after police suspect he cut off much of the puppy’s ears and attempted to sew the remnants to the back of its head.
1 inch battle cuts, many dog fighters do this to their pit bulls. A pretty good sign, in my opinion, that Chavira intended to use this pit bull in illegal dog fights somewhere in Lubbock.
I couldn’t dream of doing this, my baby is beautiful with her big floppy ears!
