Back in September, 50 Cent put out an Energy Drink, Street King, in an effort to feed starving kids in Africa.  His goal is to feed 1 billion children in five years.  And now he is donating one meal for every Facebook like Street King gets.

Last year while 50 was at the World Cup in South Africa, he got a first hand look at poverty.  From that day on, he felt he had to do something to make a difference.  So he decided to donated a portion of the profits from every energy drink sold to the United Nation's World Food Programme.  Fifty's goal, to be the next Sally Struthers.

When asked why he decided to do this, 50 said:

"I grew up without money, but I didn't grow up hungry," says the rapper, who was infamously shot nine times in a robbery that helped create his image as a street-hardened lyricist. "A lot of people out there are actually hungry right now, actually dying of hunger. I feel like it's our responsibility to come together and do things to create a solution for this actual problem."

And so far, it's working.  He has been able to feed 2.5 million kids.  Not only is 50 Cent reaching a younger and broader demographic, but he has gained the support of Goldie Hawn.  She is is currently using her twitter to encourage her followers to check out the Street King Facebook page and help with the cause.

50 has decided that for every Facebook like Street King gets, he will donated and extra meal.  So far the page has 193,621 likes.  You can help out by liking the page here. Every like is another meal.

50 Cent is dead serious about hitting his goal early.  And the way things are going, he might just do that.
