The accident that took place at 29th and S Grand sent 5 people to the hospital, one of them being an 8 year old girl that had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash.  Authorities have reported that the condition of all that were sent to the hospital has improved.

"On May 5, 2014 at approximately 4:02 PM, officers were dispatched to 29th and S Grand reference a serious motor vehicle collision.  Responding officers found that an 8 year old girl had been ejected during the crash.  She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Investigators have since learned that her condition has improved.  She had been a passenger in a 2004 Saturn 4-door driven by Mary Ann Lamb, WF 57 of Amarillo.  Lamb and three additional juveniles were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Investigators also have described their conditions as improved since the initial assessment.  The Saturn had been westbound on 29th when it pulled out in front of a northbound 2005 Nissan 4-door driven by a WM age 16.  The driver of the Nissan was also taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Two juvenile passengers from the Nissan were uninjured.  Speed is a possible factor in this collision."

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
