Can you believe that school season is right around the corner? I know parents are rejoicing, and kids are in between happy and sad.

However, with school getting ready to get back in full swing, it means it's time to snatch up those school supplies.

This past weekend, 806 Cars did a HUGE event where they brought out cool cars of all types, Kona Ice was dropping snow cones, Martha's Mini's was out there slinging mini pancakes and 806 Cars teamed up with Target to give away school supplies for the upcoming year.

They were stocked up with 806 backpacks that were given to any school-aged kids and inside was a starter pack of supplies they needed. There were a lot of happy kids walking around with a new backpack for the school year, and they were all munching on free snow cones.

For the adults, a cool little car show was going on with all sorts of different cars to look at and vote on.

This cool hot rod station wagon caught my eye...and my kids as well. They seemed to appreciate the flames on it.

If you're looking for the car I voted on as the best in show, it was this beautifully restored old school Mustang. Love the color on this thing.

Some cool race cars were out there, and there was one where I saw people were able to get in and out of.

A couple demo derby cars were also on display. I've been a part of a demo derby before. Tons of fun, but I was sore for a week after it.

It's the details on the cars you have to look for. I should've voted for this car simply based on the rear wing. I got a good laugh out of it. Yes, I recognize I'm still 13 at times.

Now if you missed this event, there's still a chance to get the school supplies you need and more!

The Studio in Town Square Village has an event going on this Saturday that you don't want to miss!

From 8a-3p, they'll be giving out free haircuts to school-aged kids from K-12, but they can only take the first 40 kids, so you'll want to get there super early to land one!

Starting at 5 pm, they'll be giving away all sorts of school supplies until they run out. They have copies of AISD and CISD supply lists, and they'll be working to fill the entire list for you. If you're in a different ISD, just bring your list!

They recently posted on their Facebook page that they filled up SIX shopping carts with school supplies and they'll be giving it all away until it runs out.
