Every day we hear stories of parents who are arrested for abusing their children, but what happens when it is a family court judge doing it?  A prominent Texas Family Court Judge is under investigation for beating his daughter with a belt.

On October 27th, Hillary Adams posted a video of her dad beating her with a belt and cursing.  The video is absolutely disturbing, but what makes it worse is that he is William Adams a Family Court Judge.  Now I am not saying that parents do not have the right to discipline their children, because they do, but in my opinion this crossed the line.

Both Judge Adams and Hillary said the reason for the "discipline" was because the then 16-year old was caught illegally downloading from the internet. But Hillary went on to add that beatings were a regular part of her life.

Since the release of the video, Judge Adams has not returned to work and has received several death threats.  But he continues to stay firm that he did nothing wrong saying:

"No, in my mind I haven't done anything wrong other than discipline my child after she was caught stealing. And I did lose my temper, but I've since apologized."

Judge Adams and Hillary's mother have since divorced.  The reasoning behind posting the video, Hillary says:

"I think he really needs help and rehabilitation. We need to get him counseling."

So what do you think?  Is this discipline or abuse?  And should he be removed from his position as a Family Court Judge?

The following video contains foul language and may not be suitable for children or the work place.  Viewer discretion is advised.
