City Of Amarillo Updates Website Designed To Keep You Safe
One of the most important things to a city and its residents is staying up to date in emergency situations, and Amarillo is no different. We deal with a lot of different types of weather events as one of our major things we like to stay up to date on.
Other things such as if roads are closed, whether planned or unexpectedly, and any kind of police activity in the area that could impact a commute or just something happening close to where we live.
The City of Amarillo has a webpage, Amarillo Alerts, that does a good job of keeping us informed and prepared for things that could happen, or are happening, in the city. As with everything though, they can always use improvements.
That's what the Public Health Department has done with the website, and the upgrades to it were much needed.
It's not all about what is happening right now, but having a plan for when something DOES happen. A lot of times, people get caught in the middle of a situation without a plan. Sometimes they simply don't know how to build a plan.
The new Amarillo Alerts website now provides us with a comprehensive list of things that we need to think about, have on hand, and how to prepare for things such as responding to emergency situations.
How to plan and prepare for both natural disasters, and diseases, can all be found on the site. All the things you may or may not have thought about are up there, and will give you peace of mind should something like this enter our world and minds.
I would highly recommend taking a look at the site and putting together a plan for everything that COULD happen. I mean none of us were ready for COVID and the impact it made on our daily lives. The things we panicked over having, how much we needed, etc. really impacted a lot of lives, even if you weren't directly affected by COVID itself.
Don't find yourself in that kind of position again, and creating a plan with Amarillo Alerts will be one of the best things you've ever done.
