You can always tell when it's back-to-school time in Amarillo. Just open up your Facebook or Instagram feed, and you'll see everyone's kids dolled up in their first day of school outfits, standing in front of their house.

Most times, they'll be holding a sign that tells you all the info you need to know, so you don't even need to ask questions. You click on the like button and move to the next post on your feed...which will undoubtedly be someone else's kids going back to school.

Is It A Quick Pic Or A Work Of Art

Now, I've seen plenty of these photos that look like they were a quick pic as the kids were running out the door. No staging, not even close to the perfect spot for a pic. It's all about getting something for the Gram.

There are those who turn it into a professional portrait. Perfect lighting, the best possible background. Wide lens, zoomed in, you name it. These pics don't deserve to be a fleeting post on social media; they deserve more.

Now, You Can Win Money For Back To School Pics

Let's turn those back-to-school pics into a little extra cash flow. That's how the good people over at Education Credit Union feel about those pics. You agonized over making it perfect, so you may as well get paid for those professional photo skills.

Until September 7th, you can nominate a photo to potentially win $250 in cold, hard cash. How's that sound? Go ahead, send those pics in, and try and score some extra cash for filling up your social media feed. You can register for the contest here.
