This is it, Amarillo, the weekend so many have been waiting for. Banana Ball has arrived in the city! The excitement around it has been palpable, the city is buzzing, and plenty of shenanigans are about to go down at HODGETOWN this weekend.

However, before the fun begins on the field, something cool is happening today in the city to bring the players even closer to the fans, and that's what this is all about: the fans.

Meet The Banana Ballers

Today, April 23rd, the Loco Beach Coconuts and Texas Tailgaters will be meeting fans, shaking hands, holding babies, and signing autographs for anyone who wants to come out and see them.

They will all be out at the Academy Sports on Soncy from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and without a doubt, it's going to be bananas out there, pun intended. They even wrapped the time around the majority of the city being out of work to allow the maximum number of people to come out and see them.

Could A Big Time Special Guest Be There

While the rosters for both teams are loaded up with plenty of talent from guys who played in college, as well as some being drafted by MLB teams, there is one guest that COULD show up that would make the event something unforgettable.

The Loco Beach Coconuts have what is called a Primetime Coach, and that coach is none other than former MLB All-Star Shane Victorino. The Flyin' Hawaiian, as he is affectionately known, could be there. Now, I have zero sources or inklings that he WILL be, but hey, the possibility is always there, right?
