3 Amarillo Restaurants Serving Great Food Without The High Cost
Ok, we've documented it many times. Cost of living is up in Amarillo just as it is across the country. It's not cheap to live these days, and we're cutting out the things we used to love doing, like going out to eat.
If you want to go out to eat, there are places that will do daily specials or offer kids eat free deals. However, it may not be what you were wanting or craving. You find yourself getting to eat out, but are not satisfied with it. So, are there places that are more affordable ALL the time instead of SOME of the time? There is, and these are a few of them.

Braum's
Yes, it's considered fast food. However, they do make your order fresh, so it's not like you're getting something from under a heat lamp. The food quality is far better than most fast food restaurants you'll go to because of it.
The best part about Braum's? It's super affordable. You aren't paying $12 for a heat lamp meal. You can get a big boy meal for a bit cheaper than that at Braum's. However, the deal that simply can't be beat is the bag of burgers. You get 5 junior hamburgers for less than $6 before tax. We take advantage of this deal often, and we always end up with extras.

El Jalapeno
Located at 4400 S. Washington, El Jalapeno is INCREDIBLE value for the amount of food you get. There are only two menu items that are priced over $10, and those are the fajitas at $10.95, so you definitely aren't breaking the bank.
They have platters that come with rice and beans and your choice of entree, and they stay under $10 each. You can feed a large family for $50 or less, depending on what you order. Oh yeah, the food is phenomenal.

Young Sushi "Rocks"
If Sushi is your thing, you need to look no further than Young Sushi "Rocks". Located on the edge of Downtown Amarillo, this is THE spot to go for sushi that won't break the bank. I mean, sushi in general tends to be expensive, but not here.
When you look at their menu, you will find plenty of different sushi rolls priced under $10, with the more intricate ones priced just above that. If you can get out of a sushi place for less than $80 and feel completely full and satisfied, you've won. Well, you'll win each time at Young Sushi "Rocks".
